Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery. Visitation is at 4:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Alfred Corbett, son of the late Alexander Corbett, Sr. and Mary Lou Bellamy Corbett was born February 3, 1950, in Wilmington, North Carolina.  He departed this earthly life on October 24, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Wilmington, North Carolina. Alfred was educated in the New Hanover County School System.  Following school, Alfred relocated to Washington, DC.  In Washington, DC he was employed for over 20 years at Hatley Memorial Hospital as an orderly.  Later, Alfred returned to Wilmington, North Carolina to be close to his family and renew old friendships along the way.  Alfred, a loving brother and friend enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Jean Corbett and Martha Corbett Jones and his brother, Alexander "Shotgun" Corbett, Jr.  He leaves to cherish fond memories: three sisters, Dorothy Williams and Rose Johnson both of Wilmington, NC and Alease Hall of Maryland; four nieces, Nicole Smith (Bernard), Pamela Davis, Audrey Carter (Charlie) and Felecia Hawkins; five nephews, Anthony Hall, Tyrone Corbett (Nikki), William Corbett (Martha), Jerome Jones and David Jones; several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
