Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Ekklesia United Holy Church of America. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery, Burgaw, NC. Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Akeem Elisha Clay was born on July 23, 1993 to Felecia Antoinette Hankins and Luther Jerome Clay at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Akeem was educated in the Pender County School System, and graduated from Heide Trask High School in 2011. Akeem gained a love for boxing and went on to pursue boxing at an amateur rank with hopes of becoming a professional. He loved the arts in many forms. Akeem loved to read, especially the Bible. He loved to draw, listen to various genres of music and to sing. Akeem was known for his beautiful smile, his contagious laughter, and his favorite question, "You okay?, Ok." Akeem Elisha Clay gained his wings peacefully on December 31, 2022 at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Felecia Hankins of Jacksonville, NC; father, Jerome Clay (Elleine) of Warsaw, NC; brothers, Tavares Jackson (Shonte Washington) of Augusta, GA, and Sherome Clay (Emily Howard) of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Eboni Clay of Houston, TX, Ivory Clay of Jacksonville, NC and (His Twin) Kendra Clay of Jacksonville, NC; nieces and nephews, Jamarien Baker of Covington, GA, Malaquie Lewis and Micah Lewis of Charlotte, NC, Sherome Clay, Jr., Aydan Clay, Mia-Bella Howard and Luther Clay all of Wilmington, NC, Jrue Dior Brodie of Jacksonville, NC, Tavorian Jackson, Ka-Leigh Pennamon and Gracie Jackson all of Augusta, GA and Ducati Clay of Houston, TX; his great-nephews: Amere Baker and Caleb Baker of Covington, GA; best friend, Bobby Banks of Rocky Point, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
