Funeral service will be held 12:00 P.M. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Church Cemetery, Bolivia, NC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Adolph Rufus "Buddy" Bellamy was born November 25, 1968, to the late Frances Ann Bellamy and Adolph Robets in New Bern, North Carolina.  He departed this earthly life on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Novant Hospital, Supply, North Carolina. "Buddy" as he was affectionately called, grew up in the Wilmington, North Carolina area with his mother and sister until his mother's health failed and she could no longer care for him.  Buddy was placed in the Caswell Developmental Center in Kinston, North Carolina.  On April 10, 1992, he became a resident at the Folly Home in Supply, North Carolina. Buddy loved to eat and enjoyed helping the staff in the kitchen.  He had a love for music, getting his hair cut and getting dressed up which made him very happy.  Buddy wasn't able to verbally express his feelings but when he finished that big wide grin, you knew you had done the right thing. Buddy leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Frances Holden of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Rudolph (Lenora) Bellamy of Bolivia, NC and Lee "Precious" Bellamy of Castle Hayne, NC; one uncle, Joseph Bellamy of Winnabow, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his Folly Home family.  Special memories are also held by Joyce (Andrew) Munn, his loyal guardian and cousin.
